The Ultimate Coolness:

Ok, so first of all happy belated New Year to all. The fantastic month of March has kept me too busy. New Year has been super in O.C. and L.A. Many cool happenings, loads of cool people.

Ultimate coolness number one: Meeting Safa, the blogger with a unique blogging style.
Ok, so we are walking with San Diego, O.C. and L.A. friends and we see Safa and his friends. I tell the gang how he puts super cool pics and videos of events on his site. After crossing paths with him a couple of times, I finally cannot resist not saying hi to him and despite having tried so long to stay anonymous, when asked, I tell him which blogger I am. It turns out to be an ultimate cool meet up. You are pretty cool Safa jaan. Visit O.C. more often. We love having you guys here.

Ultimate coolness number two: D.J. Shaad who rocked the park at hut#6. You should have seen the President of the Persian club of my Law School shake it. He is the coolest guy ever. We salsa danced to a Persian music and he said for that he will get me a scholarship! And oh, D.J. Koolak, my friend's friend, was also pretty cool.

Ultimate coolness number three: The whole Persian community at the park. We have the ultimate cool, fun-loving people and oh, they have pretty cool moves.

Not so cool: Not having the rest of the bloggers whom I love at the park. The ultimate cool San Fran blogger and a dear friend, Asad, Javod; an ultimate cool blogger who from the very first days of my blog has always left me great comments, Anahita and Solmaz, my cool Dr. and Lawyer blogger friends, Sepideh and Sanam, the beautiful girls next door, Neema, Mohammad, Soroush, Kaveh, Baarbod, Negar,Whoman and Hooman, zeitun, Rezwan, Arezou, ME, and so many others. You guys have been great throughout my short blogging experience. Love you all and wish you a year of ultimate joy and happiness. You guys are infinitely cool.

P.S. I just talked to Asad about this post and told him how it is kind of a blogger appreciation post. For so long I wanted to mention the blogs that are of interest to me and meeting Safa gave me that opportunity.

13Bedar update:
The Islamic Republic of San Diego, CA:

So, the Sunday after Irvine's 13Bedar, is San Diego's 13 Bedar and our SD friends insist on our going there. So we do and guess what, SDPD blue has banned music from being played in the park and the DJ who was supposed to rock the park did not show up because of the ban! After a great 13 Bedar in Irvine, having a musicless one in the Islamic Republic of SD was a true bummer! So once again this goes to show how cool our O.C. is. But all jokes aside, it was not all that bad, check out its pics you guys.

Not Yet A CalPer:
Confessions of a Cal-based Persian girl:

Signs indicating that I have not turned into a Californian Persian after a year and three months in Cali:

1- Do not own a BMW or an MBZ.

2- Do not have a highlight with black roots showing.

3- Do not wear high heels and designer jeans to the beach.

4- Do not leave cell phone on in libraries, lecture halls, movie theatres, dance floors,...

5- Do not roll my eyes (eshve!) or flip my hair (delbari/lavandi!) when talking.

6- Do not own a gym membership.

7- Do not insist on being related to the late king or my dad having worked for him.

8- Do not refrain from drinking cold beer in a fancy fancy classy Persian party.

P.S. to #1: Wouldn't mind owning a royal blue beamer though. Been told a BMW is called a beamer 'cause it beams money outta your pocket. Will get it once the pocket is ready to be beamed.

P.S. to #5: Been told that "eshve" through the rolling of the eyes when talking and "delbari" (robbing hearts!) through flipping hair from side to side works wonders! So I give the rolling eye thing a try. The response? The guy practically gets on one knee begging me never to scare him like that ever again! Guess it just has to be in your blood and it ain't in mine!

P.S. to #8: So we have a group of super classy super rich friends who throw grand parties often where classy foods and fancy drinks get served. So the classy classy stylish women ask for martinis and wines and them classy drinks. So I ask for a corona and drink it outta the bottle! (Though last night I did pour it into a glass! Classy enough?) At times I find myself in a guy-style beer drinking mood and cannot act all classy like! My new favorite beer: Newcastle; a guy beer so I have been told! Though I do like Sharabe Shiraz (Shiraz wine) too when in a classy mood. Overall, am no big drinker and get pretty buzzed after a few sips!

P.S. to all of the above ( numbers and P.S. to numbers): On a more serious note, I adore my people and love hanging out with them. Eversince I set foot on Cali soil, I've been advised not to mingle too much with the Cali Persian crowd, but guess what? I did and am happy happy about it.
